AHMADIYYA YOUTHS CONVERGE ON BENIN
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria Youth Organization- The Majlis Khudammul Ahmadiyya is to converge on Benin on August 5th to 8th ,2010, at Itohan Girls Secondary School, Sapele Road, for it annual convention with the Theme – Islamic Approach to Youth Development the surest Way To Nation Building.
Islamic lectures, Quranic and speech competitions, sports and visit to Hospital, Old People’s Home Motherless Babies Home and the Prison are some of the activities slated for the three day meeting in the Edo state capital.
Notable topics for discussions during the three day gathering will covers Towards Achieving Unity in Islam; Agreement or Antagonism, Accountable Leadership and responsible Followership Key Ingredients For Project Nigeria, Economic and Socio-Political justice; The answer To Nigeria’s Civil Crises.
The High point of the event is the lecture on the theme of the conference - Islamic Approach To Youth Development: The Surest Way To National Building to be held at Oba Akenzua Cultural Center Airport Road Benin City.
Speakers at the occasion are Dr Saeed Timehin, of Lagos State University ,and Co- Chairman Muslim Lagos State Inter-religious Council ,NAREC, Dr Abdul Majeed Hassan Bello Of the University Of Uyo and Barrister Badr Mohammed Basir.
The Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomole is the Guest of Honour. Other special Guests are Chairman Oredo Local Government, Special Adviser To the Governor on Education, Permanent Secretary Edo State MINISTRY OF Education, Dr Hassan - a Lecturer at the University Of Benin. President and National Youth Council of Nigeria, top officials of federal government agencies and security services would also graced the convention.
Dr Mashood Fashola, Amir –Head Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria will lead guests from the Islamic community.
